چکیده

The future is here now for the surgical viewing experience. By ALAN J. FRANKLIN, MD, PHD • RAMESH SARANGAPANI, PHD • LU YIN, PHD • BURTON TRIPATHI, PHD • CHRISTOPHER RIEMANN, MD May 1, 2017 4 Fifty years ago, the operating microscope was introduced into the ophthalmic surgical suite and became the standard for intraoperative surgical viewing. Current analog microscopes have excellent optics, lighting, and depth of field that permit vitreoretinal surgeons to repair an extensive array of surgical pathologies. However, there are limitations to our current analog optical visualization that include reliance on microscope oculars, excess light exposure for the patient, and the relative inability to add heads-up information to the surgeon’s view.

Comparison of computerized digital and analog radiography for detection of bronchial pattern in dogs

Background: Analog radiography has been replaced with digital radiography for canine diagnostic imaging in many veterinary clinics. There is no data comparing these modalities in a veterinary clinical setting to detect bronchial pattern signs in dogs. Objectives: In this study, computerized digital radiography (CR) and analog radiography were compared for diagnosis of bronchial pattern in dogs....

Microscope-integrated optical coherence tomography: A new surgical tool in vitreoretinal surgery

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has revolutionized imaging of ocular structures and various disease conditions. Though it has been used in the clinic for some decades, the OCT has only recently found its way into the operating theater. Early attempts at intraoperative OCT, hand-held and microscope mounted, have already improved our understanding of the surgical pathology and the role it migh...
